Neely Fuller, Jr. was born on October 6, 1929 at the height of the Great Depression. He served in two branches of the Armed Forces. He served in the Army during the Korean War Conflict for his first term. For his second term, he served in the Air force during the Little Rock 9 era where 9 black youths went to an all white high school during desegregation.During this time, he wrote the first six pages of his book which grew to 1,300 páginas, which he carried around in a suitcase. When Mr. Fuller, Jr. left the military in 1984, he organized the pages into a more comprehensive form by placing them in note binders. These “notes” evolved into a ground-breaking analysis of the system of white supremacy called THE UNITED INDEPENDENT COMPENSATORY CODE/SYSTEM/CONCEPTS: a textbook/workbook for thought, discurso, and/or action for victims of racism (la supremacía blanca). En 2010, El Sr.. Fuller, Jr. expanded his concept to explain our modern-day use of words in his second book, “A Compensatory Counter-Racist Codified Word Guide.”

I only heard the end of the show this morning but Mr. Fuller’s ideology sounds a lot like the common sense thinking that happens when one stops making excuses for the atrocities imposed upon AA people. He calls a spade a spade which is a breath of fresh air as opposed to the “let’s not talk about that” dismissive rhetoric that conservatives would have you believe every time the subject of racism/discrimination is broached. It is impossible to “fix” a problem that we are afraid or reluctant to talk about. We have remained in denial and thus we have no solutions for a problem that we cannot/will not face head on. Nosotros (black and whites) are afraid to look at, let alone talk about the depth/degree of PURE evil that exists in our world. We see it, we live it, but we minimize it as a means of trying to find the “bright side”, el “positive side”, etc. etc. News flash, there is no bright side to pure evil. Sí, you can choose to react positively to a negative situation but in the long run, that doesn’t work or begin to solve the problem. While Blacks continue to “look the other way” it only serves to embolden the oppressor! We were forced to look the other way during slavery and we still practice this learned behavior. We will confront one another (a slave learned behavior) but we will not confront the white man ( a slave learned behavior). If you need proof, look at what smiling, pretending and minimizing has done for us so far!
