Dead Accurate Marketing is in hot water after illegally using a photo of Mitrice Richardson in a marketing campaign on Facebook for my.onlineeducationdepartment.org, a website promoting vocational degrees.
Richardson, 24, was found dead in August in a Malibu ravine just about a year after she initially disappeared after being released in the middle of the night the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Lost Hills Malibu sheriff’s station. The cause of death as yet to be determined with recent involvements including assistance from the F.B.I.
Michael Richardson, her father, plans to take legal action against the Louisiana based marketing firm.
“My daughter, while beautiful, is not for sale,” commented Richardson. “Mitrice graduated from Cal State Fullerton. She did not event participate in this program.”
At press time, no one from Dead Accurate Marketing could be reached for comment.
A complaint is being filed with the Direct Marketing Association’s Committee on Ethical Business Practices, which oversees online marketing campaigns.
