Jasmyne Cannick (born 22 October 1977) is an African-American civil rights activist and journalist. In 2005, Essence magazine named her one of 25 Women Shaping the World. She was quoted by the Chicago Sun-Times for her stance on the R. Kelly scandal.She frequently provides commentary on National Public Radio and is a regular contributor to the LA Progressive, an online social justice magazine. She is most outspoken about the divide between gays and blacks, and how gay culture is dominated by whites, which is hard to deal with for blacks because they do not feel part of the gay society and are overlooked.

Ron Hasson held a General Management Executive position with extensive experience in strategic planning, operations and human resource management. Ron is resourceful in solving problems and maximizing resources. He has excellent communications skills, both written and spoken.  Sharp analytical skills; research and detail oriented. Strategic thinker and motivator, with the ability to see the “big picture.” Mr. Hasson currently chairs the California-Hawaii State Conference Branch Development committee. He also serves as California-Hawaii State Conference Southwest Area Director and in 2012 he became a member of the NAACP National board of Directors. He is serving his fifth term as President of the Branch. The focus of Mr. Hasson commitment continues to address issues concerning people of color in Region 1 and the Hollywood Industry. Ron leads a team of volunteers who work many hours on branch committees implementing and designing activities which address Youth Development, Education, legal Redress, Veterans, Health, Women of Excellence, and Performing Arts Events. During his tenure as President he has overseen the production of Ten NAACP Theatre Awards which acknowledges the best of the best in theatre. In addition to the Award Show the Beverly Hills Hollywood Chapter now presents a theatre festival.

Minnie Hadley-Hempstead (not pictured above) was recently elected as the President of the Los Angeles chapter of the NAACP. She has been with the NAACP LA chapter for 40 years plus and member of the executive committee for 30 years. She is formerly the First Vice President of the NAACP LA Chapter for the last 5 years.
