Fredrick Martin was killed shielding 8-year-old son from gunfire Tuesday and now family is on a mission to find his killers

On Tuesday, April 3 at approximately 7 p.m. in the 3200 block of West 109th Street in Inglewood, Fredrick Martin III, 28, was shot twice in the chest and stomach after pushing his 8-year-old son to the ground in an effort to save his life.  The child was grazed by a bullet.  The shooting was one of three in the city that evening according to City News Service.  Along with Martin, his best friend Joey Hickman was shot but has already been released from the hospital.  Martin, is listed on Facebook as graduate of Westchester High School and Texas Southern University and was expecting his second child with his wife Amanda Martin.  Their one-year anniversary would have been on May 11.  Neither Martin nor Hickman are gang affiliated.

    Father have Mercy on us. Please forgive us for what we have created and use us according to Thy will – I Pray for the day that Sisters put petty differences aside and take to these streets and take them over. The communities are running scared from gang bangers when the gang bangers need to be running scared from us. Enough is enough!

    This is really sad! People need to put these guns down, people dont deserve this stuff! I hope they catch these killers! May his soul rest! Prayers goes out to his family!
