Comté de Los Angeles Steve Cooley procureur prend sa retraite après avoir occupé le siège pendant plus d'une décennie. Les six candidats à la plus haute fonction sont sous-chef de district procureur Jackie Lacey, Procureur de la ville Carmen Trutanich et vice-procureurs de district John Breault, Bobby Grâce, Alan Jackson et Danette Myers.
Trois sont afro-américain -- Grâce, Lacey et Meyers -- et deux sont des femmes. Comté de Los Angeles a jamais eu un procureur de district noir ou femelle, si l'histoire pouvait être fait avec cette élection.
La position est sans doute la tâche la plus puissante à Los Angeles. Système de justice pénale du comté de, comme il supervise la poursuite des 60,000 criminels chaque année et peut être un tremplin vers un poste plus élevé. Les électeurs du comté voteront sur Juin 5.
Pour gagner pure et simple, a candidate must get more than 50-percent of the vote. If that doesn’t happen, the top vote-getters will meet in a November runoff.
Aujourd'hui, Dominique moderated a candidate’s forum on KJLH’s Front Page Show in advance of the election with three of the six candidates–Grâce, Meyers, and Lacey.
Carmen Trutanich refused to participate, citing that he’d come in October before the general election. Alan Jackson cancelled to attend an early morning breakfast, and John Breault never responded to the request for participation.

Hé, what happened to my comments that I posted under this thread last week? They were all deleted and replaced with a new banner pic and June 4, 2012 date. Je;m disappointed because that show was way too short…I wanted to hear more from the candidates regarding their positions.
De toute façon, I’m still going to vote for Danette Meyers tomorrow. Smart justice. Plus, she’s from the hood — Compton, so she can relate and it seems like she connects well with blacks. She also prosecuted that crazy Lindsay Lohan.
Lacey just seems like a female version of Steve Cooley with a black face. More of the same. Seems to speak in grandiose terms and not concrete examples of what she would affirmatively do if elected.
Grâce, had some good points but I don’t think he has a real chance at all.
We all need to rally behind one candidate…
my vote is going to Danette Meyers.
