Jasmyne Cannick has won numerous awards as a nationally syndicated journalist who writes about the intersection of pop culture, race, class, and politics as played out in the African-American community. She was selected as one of ESSENCE Magazine’s 25 Women Shaping the World and is a frequent voice on National Public Radio. Her work has been featured in the Los Angeles Times, Chicago Sun Times, Los Angeles Daily News, and Ebony Magazine to name a few and her syndicated column appears in Black newspapers from coast to coast. She is the past co-anchor of the evening news on Los Angeles Pacifica radio station 90.7FM. Today, she is an Associate Producer on Black Los Angeles’ early morning communications drum the Front Page radio show. As a political and culture critic and commentator she’s a frequent guest on CNN, FOX News, BET, Access Hollywood.
Ms. Cannick’s day to day work is in political communications where she’s worked at all three levels of government, including in the House of Representatives, California’s State Legislature, and for various local city governments. Currently she develops, executes, and oversees the communications strategies for organizations, candidates running for local and State office, and issue based campaigns
