The Black Media Alliance

The Black Media Alliance, a coalition of African-Americans in media and broadcasting dedicated to helping Clear Channel as well as other media companies meet their commitment to diversity both on-air and behind the scenes.

The mission of the BMA is to help diversify Clear Channel’s flagship station KFI 640 AM, and other Clear Channel stations throughout the country with the addition of more Black on-air talk show hosts, producers, engineers, and paid contributors.

  • Kevin Ross, host of the syndicated television program ‘America’s Court with JudgeRoss’, and former KABC and KFI host
  • Lee Bailey, 30-year radio broadcasting pioneer, founder and CEO of the Electronic Urban Report (EURweb)
  • Dominique DiPrima, talk radio veteran and host of the Front Page on KJLH 102.3 FM
  • Isidra Person Lynn, former talk radio host, producer and public affairs director
  • L. C. “Chris” Strudwick-Turner, Vice President of Marketing & Communications for the Los Angeles Urban League
  • Kevin Ross, 20-year radio veteran, on-air personality and the editor of RadioFacts.com

Jasmyne Cannick

A former press secretary in the House of Representatives and the California State Legislature, Jasmyne Cannick is a Los Angeles based public affairs specialist.

Having worked at all three levels of government, Jasmyne currently develops, executes, and oversees the communications strategies for candidates running for local and State office and issue based campaigns.

Outside of politics, Ms. Cannick is a nationally syndicated journalist with a background in radio news production.

She has won numerous awards for her work on the intersection of pop culture, race, class, and politics.

Selected as one of ESSENCE Magazine’s 25 Women Shaping the World, she is a frequent voice on National Public Radio. Her work has been featured in the Los Angeles Times, Chicago Sun Times, Los Angeles Daily News, and Ebony Magazine to name a few and her syndicated column appears in Black newspapers from coast to coast. She is the past co-anchor of the evening news on Los Angeles Pacifica radio station 90.7FM. Today, she is an Associate Producer on Black Los Angeles’ early morning communications drum the Front Page radio show heard on KJLH 102.3 FM.

As a political and pop culture critic and commentator, she’s a frequent guest on CNN, FOX News, BET, Access Hollywood.

Chris Strudwick-Turner

L. C. “Chris” Strudwick-Turner joined the Los Angeles Urban League in March 2006 as the Vice President of Marketing & Communications. Strudwick-Turner is responsible for all marketing, communications and public relations as well as development. Reporting directly to the President & CEO, she plays a pivotal role in the creation and implementation of the League’s strategic planning and organizational marketing/PR plans.
