Alan-Micahel Graves-Director, Project Fatherhood

Alan-Michael S. Graves is the Director Project Fatherhood in the Leadership Center at Children’s Institute, Inc. (CII)

Alan-Michael has worked in the human services field, with extensive experience as a manager and administrator, for both public and private agencies, for the past 10 years.  He has brought these diverse perspectives to his work helping agencies and systems develop, implement and evaluate interagency systems of care, family partnership and wraparound programs.

He received his B.A. in Political Science, a MSPA in Public Administration from California State University and Juris Degree from Southwestern.  Along with being a father of two teenage boys, Alan-Michael is engaged in a tremendous amount of work with the homeless in Los Angeles, with LAUSD as an advocate of public education and continues his ongoing passion of offering an in-depth look at how experienced family law attorneys can work with skilled mental health professionals to meet the needs of children in foster care and families throughout the custody evaluation process.

Lorenzo Carter-Project Fatherhood Member

Lorenzo Carter has been a member of Project Fatherhood since 2005. He is a father of two children, a son age 18 and a daughter age 17. He attributes the group with giving him the tools to improve his relationship with his children and giving him a place of support to discuss parenting concerns that sometimes arise. He continues to be a contributing member sharing experiential insight regarding his relationship with his children with newer members of the group and displays internalization and commitment to the group and the process.
