Dr. Mable John

Dr. Mable John is the founder of Joy Community Outreach. Un ex R&B vocalist, she is the sister of the late-great Little Willie John. Durante gli anni '50 e '60, John toured the South with some of the biggest names of that era: Jimmy Reed, Shirley e Lee, B.B. Re, Sam Cooke, Il Flamingo e altri.

John è stato firmato per l'etichetta Stax dal suo manager, Fortunato Cordell. Primo grande successo di Giovanni (che ha co-autore) era "Your Good Thing (Is About To End), registrato in 1966. Prima di firmare con la Stax, she was with Motown. Ha registrato in etichetta Tamla ed è un amico personale della famiglia Gordy. Per un breve periodo, Mable lavorato con Madre di Gordy in una grande impresa di assicurazione Detroit.

Dopo aver eseguito come solista per diciassette anni, she joined Ray Charles where she became a performing member of the Raelettes. She has co-written 52 canzoni con Ray Charles e era con la sua organizzazione per la 10 1/2 anni prima di lasciare 1976.

Ora vive nella zona di Los Angeles, John is Pastor of “Joy In Jesus Ministries” with an evangelistic outreach called “A PLACE TO PRAY”, where she feeds the hungry and gives clothes to the needy on a daily basis. The ministry has a full line referral service that assist men and women on how to reclaim their place in society. Luglio 1993, John received her Doctrine of Divinity degree from the Crenshaw Christian Center.

Mable John now ministers through song and has chosen to sing the gospel. Her first gospel album “WHERE CAN I FIND JESUS” has been released on her family owned independent label, Meda Records.
