Former WNBA Player Tamara James Elected Mayor of Florida Hometown

After a fruitful career on the hardwood, former Washington Mystics player, Tamara James, plans to take her talents back to her hometown.

The 32-year-old activist was recently named mayor of her old stomping grounds, Dania Beach, 佛罗里达州, Broward County’s “oldest community” the 迈阿密先驱报 报告.

San Antonio Elects Ivy Taylor Its 1st Black Mayor

今天, Ivy Taylor began her first official day as the elected mayor of San Antonio, 德州. Taylor is the first African-American to fulfill the role.

This development comes almost a year after Taylor was selected to serve as the interim mayor of the city to finish the term of the previous mayor, Julian Castro.
