Dr. Lekeisha A. Sumner, PhD, ABPP is a licensed clinical psychologist (CA License: PSY 22662) with Board Certification in Clinical Health Psychology. She is an Associate Professor of Psychology in the California School of Professional Psychology at Alliant International University (APA Approved) and an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Biobehavioral Science at University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior. She is also a member of the California Pain Medicine Center.

Dr. Sumner’s research examines the influence of psychosocial processes on health and well-being with a particular focus on trauma and chronic stress among both domestic and international populations. Her research program combines social, cultural, and behavioral factors to inform translational research and clinical practice. She has lectured widely on issues relating to health and well-being. She is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Psychological Association, has numerous journal and book chapter publications to her credit and is a frequent reviewer for scientific journals, grants, and conferences.

Dr. Sumner maintains an independent practice in Los Angeles, CA, where she is active in several civic and community organizations.
