Johnni Matthews, representing the Crenshaw Car Wash and its owner, approached Jasmyne Cannick at the rally for Mitrice in Leimert Park stating that she wanted to host a fundraiser for Mitrice Richardson’s family.

Michael Richardson and Jasmyne met with the owner and Johhni Matthews at the Crenshaw Car Wash on September 4 at 11 a.m. to work out the details.

It was decided that the Crenshaw Car was would host the fundraiser and donate $2 from each car that came to the car wash on that day to the family of Mitrice Richardson for the fund in her name.  Period.  The family was not to pay for any extra costs.  It was also okayed by the owner of the car wash and Johnni Matthews for Sky’s Tacos to donate their taco truck services to the event as an extra bonus for car wash participants.

The money was going to be used to charter the buses to Malibu for a memorial walk in remembrance of Mitrice that was to be held today.

Jasmyne handled the press for the event as she always does which included asking KJLH to kindly mention the event.  Both Adai and Dominique mentioned the event several times on the air as well as several newspapers ran a piece on the Thursday preceding the event.  Michael Richardson added the even to his website and also promoted the event.

The day of the event Johnni Matthews informed Michael Richardson that things had changed and now the family only received the $2 if the person said they were there for the car wash.  To add insult to injury, Johnni Matthews also accused Jasmyne of not promoting the event and KJLH of not promoting the event, IN PUBLIC.

In addition, Johhni Matthews reneged on the invite to Sky’s Tacos after the owner of Quik and Split became belligerent and hostile towards Jasmyne and Sky’s, forcing Sky’s to leave.

At the end of the day, no money was given to the family and to this day, no money has been given to the family from either Johnni Matthews or the owner of the car wash.

Johnni also accused Michael of stealing the raffle tickets and said that it was “generous of the car wash owner to cover the cost of insuring his carwash workers, paying for the DJ, and security guard.”

Several attempts have been made to collect this money from the carwash and to this date, no money has been collected.

Please let both Johnni Matthews and the Crenshaw Car Wash know that this kind of behavior isn’t acceptable and that until that money is given to the Richardson family, you won’t be patronizing the Car Wash.
