More Black Men in College than in Prison

A little known fact, it seems.

At this point, it’s almost a cliché to declare “There are more black men in jail than in college.” I’ve heard it my entire life—from adults, friends, politicians, and assorted pundits. When he was just a presidential candidate, then-Senator Barack Obama told the NAACP that “We have more work to do when more young black men languish in prison than attend colleges and universities across America.”

  1. Dominique I thank you for bringing this up, because it’s time we quite quoting the statistics from the Dominic media groups. We need to do our own investigation of the facts. They are not the experts on everything and we should know that by now.

  2. SO, WHAT ARE THE NUMBERS? ALSO, HOW MANY ARE GRADUATING FROM INSTITUTIONS OTHER THAN HISTORICAL BLACK COLLEGES?

    HOW MANY ARE ATHLETICS? HOW MANY ARE IN THE SCIENCES? STATS, DATA PLEASE?
