Cde Mzwandile Makwayiba
President of the Congress of South African Trade Unions’ (COSATU) largest public sector union: National Educators, Health and Allied Workers Union (NEHAWU), and president of the World Federation of Trade Unions (WFTU), representing 92 million union members in 126 nations.
Mzwandile Makwayiba was born in the Ntlangaza village in the Eastern Cape.
In October 2016 at the 17th WFTU World Congress held in Durban, Comrade Makwayiba was elected as President of the World Federation of Trade Unions {WFTU}.
At the NEHAWU 11th National Congress held in June 2017, he was re-elected as the President.
