Councilwoman Lula Davis-Holmes was first elected into the Carson City Council on March 6, 2007. She was re-elected to a second term on March 8, 2011 and for a third term in 2015. She is currently serving as Carson’s Mayor Pro Tem.

Since her election to the City Council 9 years ago, Lula has worked to improve the quality of life for Carson residents by supporting and/ or running lead on various projects such as the Utility Users’ Tax, which brought additional revenue to the city. She also worked with our State Legislature to initiate legislation to prevent the clustering of sex offenders; boots for Safety for the Los Angeles County Animal Control Officers assigned to the Carson Animal Shelter; supported Project Labor Agreement and Living Wages, and has been an advocate for local hiring and employment of minority contractors...http://ci.carson.ca.us/Government/MayorProtem.aspx
