Ricky Harris passion for greatness started in his early days growing up on the Upper East Side of Long Beach.  Ricky started out as a star football quarterback and basketball guard at national powerhouse Long Beach Poly High School.  His goal of playing football for USC before eventually going pro was cut short by an injury that left him temporarily paralyzed and permanently damaged his knee.  Ricky soon turned to his natural charisma and talent for comedy to see him through.  Before long, Ricky began performing in talent shows and MCing neighborhood house parties.  Ricky soon found himself catching the bus up to Hollywood to see other live acts, and to plead with club managers for his own shot in front of the microphone.  Eventually his persistence paid off, and at the age of 18, Ricky landed a spot at The Comedy Act Theater.   He was seen by the late Robin Harris, who became a mentor to the young performer.  Ricky put himself to work honing his talent through a busy schedule of performances at local nightclubs and tours of major cities.  Ricky soon rose to prominence and was featured in major comedy festivals such as Montreal and Aspen.  He won the 6th Annual Bay Area Comedy Competition, and was featured on “SHOWTIME AT THE APOLLO” in New York.  Ricky was also taped to be one of the regular performers and hosts of HBO’s successful “DEF COMEDY JAM.”

Due to the popularity of his comedy, Ricky was approached by many hip-hop artists to write comedic content for and perform on their recordings.  Ricky contributed characters and skits for multi-platinum selling artists such as Snoop Doggy Dogg, Ice Cube, Tha Dogg Pound, Warren G., Montell Jordan and Cypress Hill. Just to name a few.Ricky has also built a successful career as a dramatic actor, and has appeared alongside some of the biggest names in Hollywood.  Morgan Freeman, Billy Crystal and Al Pacino are only a few of the actors with whom Ricky has shared screen time in his work in feature films.  His numerous television guest star credits include “CSI: NY,” “CSI,” “NYPD BLUE,” “THE PRACTICE,” “X-FILES,” “RAISING THE BAR” and “DARK BLUE.”    Ricky recurred on all 7 seasons of “EVERYONE HATES CHRIS.”  He was can be seen in the indie feature “WOMAN THOU ART LOOSED,” which opened in limited release across the country and most recently in the feature “This Christmas.”  Harris was a producer on the MTV series “DOGG AFTER DARK,” and is currently hosting “THE COMEDY CORNER” for the FOXX HOLE, which is Jamie Foxx’s syndicated radio show on XM radio.
